Sandro Tonali announcement day revealed in new report & reason for delay becomes clear

According to new reports, Sandro Tonali looks set to be unveiled as a Newcastle United player on Monday.

As revealed by Mark Douglas at the ipaper, the deal is ‘done and dusted’, but an official announcement of his signature at St James’ Park had been delayed due to his involvement in the Under-21 European Championships with Italy.

With Italy knocked out in the group stages thanks to a 1-0 defeat to Norway on Wednesday night, it’s believed the 23-year-old should be unveiled by the club on Monday.

This time last week, Fabrizio Romano announced that Newcastle United had struck a deal with AC Milan to sign the midfielder. Many hoped to see him holding up the black and white shirt over that weekend or early this week, but his involvement at the U21 Euros delayed that, with him fully focused on representing his country first.

A week later, it seems we’ll finally see our new midfield maestro in Newcastle colours on Monday. Mark Douglas’ report also reveals our intention to sign another top class midfielder and a left-back over the coming weeks, with talks ongoing over a move for Tino Livramento.
