Striker with same agent as Eddie Howe under consideration to replace Chris Wood – Report

According to The Chronicle, Newcastle United are on the search for another striker to offer cover for Alexander Isak and Callum Wilson next season.

In his latest piece on the Toon transfer front, Lee Ryder reveals that Senegalese international Habib Diallo has been suggested to Eddie Howe following his superb season in France.

The former Metz star bagged 20 goals in 37 Ligue 1 appearances for Strasbourg and has also shone for his country, scoring once and assisting another in Senegal’s 4-2 win over Brazil last week; a game both Joelinton and Bruno Guimaraes started.

Diallo is also represented by the same agency that looks after Howe. This wouldn’t determine our interest in the player, but could aid lines of communication if we did make a move for the forward.

The Chronicle report that we’re on the lookout for another striker who can replace Chris Wood – who has now completed a permanent move for Nottingham Forest – and compete with Isak and Wilson; the only senior strikers on our books as things stand.

  1. The club the Chelsea owner has just bought & is putting Patrick Viera in as manager … they are going to sell us a young talented CF rather than developing him with a view to promoting him to the Chelsea side???
