Newcastle ‘miss out’ on €20m deal as Fabrizio Romano confirms move to European giants

As revealed by Fabrizio Romano, Real Madrid have struck a deal to sign Turkish wonderkid Arda Guler with Newcastle and a host of other European sides set to miss out.

Romano has given this move his iconic ‘here we go’ as the Fenerbahce star looks to be on the verge of signing for Los Blancos for a fee of around €20m.

It was believed that Newcastle had met with the 18-year-olds representatives a few weeks ago, but it was always going to be a long shot with the number of huge clubs chasing his signature. Barcelona’s president confirmed their interest last week, but it seems their La Liga rivals have on the race.

The midfielder, who was born in 2005, enjoyed a breakout season with the Turkish giants and scored his first international goal just last month. A €17.5m release clause was believed to exist in his contract, but Real Madrid will pay €20m for his signature and hand the youngster a six-year deal.
