Saudi PIF now considering second major investment after Newcastle United takeover – Report

As reported by Gulf News, the Saudi PIF ar ‘considering’ purchasing another European club in one of the top five leagues.

This news comes after UEFA announced that it would allow clubs with the same owners to compete across the elite European competitions.

There were previous reports that they were only looking for a relatively small side with KV Oostende being rumoured to be the frontrunner. They remain an option and could be the start of Newcastle’s multi-club model, but it seems the Middle East giants are also planning another large scale investment in European football.

With the amount of money that is going into the Saudi Pro League, it’s clear that they are not going away and want to be involved in many areas of football around the world.

It is still unclear who the group may be targeting but it would certainly be another huge addition to their footballing portfolio.
