Newcastle growing frustrated with Southampton over deal for Livramento

According to The Northern Echo, Newcastle are becoming increasingly ‘frustrated’ with Southampton as we continue our pursuit for defender Tino Livramento.

It was rumoured that a deal worth £30m was close to being completed last week, but new reports suggest that Southampton ‘keep moving the financial goalposts’, leaving the Magpies somewhat irritated.

It has also emerged that Chelsea have a huge sell-on clause for the youngster, hence the demand for a huge fee, after they sold the teenager to the Saints two years ago.

While understandable that Southampton want to make as much money as possible, Newcastle are still unhappy with the way the club have handled these negotiations.

Livramento is an exciting young talent who should be playing at the highest level, so hopefully the two sides can come to a reasonable agreement in the coming weeks.

  1. End this now Newcastle, he is overpriced, we don’t actually need cover at right back and if he is going to play left back let’s go out and sign an out and out left back

  2. Ok, first I’ll say that I am a Newcastle fan.
The club are moaning about something that they’ve done in the past. And will do it in the future when it suits them. I thought they were trying to appear more ethical than that last owner- maybe that’s over now.
