Newcastle have added Salzburg star Oumar Solet to their list of centre-back options, according to journalist Ben Jacobs.
The former CBS reporter believes the 23-year-old is one to “keep an eye on”, revealing that he’s “on Newcastle’s radar” and keen to seal a summer move to the Premier League.
The Mail were the first to report on our interest in the 6ft 4′ Frenchman last week, claiming ourselves and Everton are admirers of the towering defender.
Now, Jacobs has had this to say when speaking on NUFC Matters this week:
“I would keep an eye on a player at Salzburg called Oumar Solet.
“He is on Newcastle’s radar and he would like to play in the Premier League.
“He’s in his early 20s, he’s very physical 6 ft 4, that’s a name Newcastle have on their radar.”
Solet played in the Champions League last season with Austrian champions Red Bull Salzburg and is thought to be one of the top young centre-back outside of Europe’s major leagues.
