Livramento fee goes public – Conflicting claims from Sky Sports, Romano & The Athletic

After Sky Sports confirmed that Newcastle United had finally agreed a deal with Southampton for Tino Livramento, a host of outlets have now revealed the fee we look set to pay for the 20-year-old.

According to widespread reports, we’ll pay £30-35m plus add-ons for the England U21 international.

Fabrizio Romano reports that the overall package is in excess of £35m, while The Athletic’s David Ornstein claims the deal is worth a total of £40m after add-ons.

Sky Sports say it’s an initial £32m that could rise to £40m, while The Mail’s Craig Hope claims it will be £30m plus approximately £5m in add-ons (based around the Champions League).

So, it’s around £30-£35m plus add-ons. It’s a significant outlay but secures the signing of a huge talent with massive potential and one of the most exciting young full-backs in the country.

The right-back – who can also operate down the left – is expected to undergo his medical on Tyneside in the next 24 hours with the hope he can feature in the Sela Cup this weekend.

Another smart addition and our fourth signing of the summer following moves for Sandro Tonali (£52m), Harvey Barnes (£38m) and Yankuba Minteh (£6m).
