Joe Willock makes brilliant Eddie Howe admission as £25m man pushes for first start

Joe Willock has revealed that Eddie Howe ‘never went a day’ without speaking to the midfielder and checking on his mental health during his long spell on the sidelines with hamstring and Achilles injuries.

Willock, who had been in such great form, was an unfortunate casualty in our 4-1 victory over Brighton that saw us all but secure Champions League football back in May.

The 24-year-old returned to action against Borussia Dortmund and came off the bench in our 2-2 draw at Wolves, leaving him in contention for his first start in six months ahead of our Carabao Cup clash at Old Trafford on Wednesday.

Watch his brilliant comments below, showing what a great man manager Howe really is:

It is yet more proof of not only what a top manager Howe is but what an incredible person he is as well and explains why he has achieved so much with such a tightly knit squad.
