United hit for six as freefall continues

Pressure piles on Pardew
Pressure piles on Pardew
This isn’t a match report of the like you’ll be used to reading on here. To put it bluntly, I’m not quite sure anyone would want to recount the events of yesterday.

So for that reason I’m not going to bother and I’m going to have a moan instead. The facts are startling enough and the main one is that we lost 6-0 at home to Liverpool.

I’ve personally now got that sinking feeling and and I now firmly believe that our safety is now in the hands of the inability, or indeed ability, of other teams below us picking up points. I honestly can’t see us getting another win this season and at the moment getting a draw is a stretch of the imagination so it’s very much squeaky *** time on Tyneside as we await confirmation of which division we’ll be gracing next season.

What I saw yesterday was nowhere near good enough. A 6-0 defeat is never good, but to not find one positive from a defeat like that and, perhaps more worryingly, see a side who are supposed to be fighting for their lives crumble so easily is alarming to say the least.

So where do we go from here? Put simply I don’t know. I’m now at the point of backing the sacking of Alan Pardew after spending so much time teetering on the edge, but is it right to do it with three games to go? Do we get rid now and let John Carver have a go at motivating our players? There are risks associated with everything.

What’s gone wrong? Have we collectively overestimated how good our French imports are? To put it another way, are they not as good as a lot of fans thought they were? I still believe they are good players, but they aren’t being played in the right way and aren’t being motivated enough which is the job of a manager in my book.

Yes you can say the players have a responsibility and should be motivated because that’s their job, but we don’t know if anything has happened behind the scenes to affect that. Most people in normal jobs would just get on wit it, but footballers aren’t “normal” in that sense and need to be handled differently.

A dismal season is just getting worse and worse, and that real worrying thing is that it could still get worse. The threat of relegation still looms large and the result yesterday, although horrible to go through, will have very little to do with it in the grand scheme of things. If we go down it’s because we’ve not been good enough all season, not because we lost 6-0 yesterday.

I, like everyone, just hope we don’t have to go through relegation again…

  1. Unbelievable at this level I meant to say. Pardew doesn’t even look good enough to manage in the Championship, which is where he seems determined to take us.

      (Quote)

  2. The trouble is, Carr is out buying us players like Anita and Pardew is playing Perch. Anita has spent most of the season on the bench. Carr could sign Tevez, Anita, Ben Arfa & Amalfitano and Pardew will play Perch, Jonas and Strolla. And yesterday Tiote is back, Tiote is back! He’s been **** all season and did nowt but fall over the ball.

    Pardew could have played…
    ——————Cisse———————
    Obertan——-Sissoko——–Gouffran
    ————Anita——–Cabaye———-

Would have given us far more attacking impetus right from the start but he bottled it.

  3. I agree with Steve Wraith in that video – 100% although Ashley and Llambias can not be blamed for the decisions that Pardew has made in the last month or so.

      (Quote)

  4. I thought you might like that video clip Troy, 😉
SW is probably right, in so much as we cant sack Pardum now, with just 3 games to go. But he doesn’t go so far as to say he backs him to be our head coach again next season.
He also fails to mention the new tools Pardum was given in January, and how he has managed to turn all 6 into useless plums with his negative, clueless defenceless tactics. Yes defenceless. We don’t know how to defend anymore.
Having had all day today to calm myself down again, I have to say ok let Pardum finish off this season no matter what.
But I seriously hope he is on the first train out of the Toon on May 20th.
Because it is clear to me, that next season he will serve up more of the same bullshit we have seen this season.
    🙁 👿

  5. MM
How’s it different? Wouldn’t blame him for going to a CL team that can correctly pass him the ball.

      (Quote)

  6. After the sixth goal yesterday the camera focused on Pardew. He was gesturing to one of our players, then he put his thumb up. Ah, finally we’ve got the defense set right now. Oh but it’s 0-6. Perhaps we should have had a plan slightly earlier in the game? Even the commentators were amazed by that.

      (Quote)

  7. By the way – if Pardew was to be sacked tomorrow I would be looking at Poyet. He was a class player, looks like a class manager who plays good attacking football and I think the players would respond to him.

Oh and we might get passed the third round of the FA cup…

      (Quote)

  8. I’m starting to think
    -Simpson—-Saylor—-Colocinni—-Raylor-
Was the best defence we had. They functioned like a well oiled machine that kept many clean sheets and had us in the top 3.

      (Quote)

  9. so sacking pardew would be a bad idea?

keeping pardew going into the next 3 games with the club imploding is a better idea?

We need a boost for one game then a new set-up for next season.

      (Quote)

  10. They weren’t internationals (Colo had previously been though) and they weren’t fancy but 3/4 were English and they put a shift in. All had PL experience, a stark contrast to our current crop who are all internationals but phanny around with the ball too much and give up too easily.

      (Quote)

  11. Mark, not sure sacking Pardum would give us that much needed boost.
I’m now crossing my fingers and hoping upon hope we survive one way or another.
That starts with a scum win tomorrow night. 👿 👿
“haway the lads” cheesey chips n a panda pop at full time. 😛

      (Quote)

  12. I think Pardew with a group of foreign internationals is completely useless as a pairing. Pardew would do far better with the group we used to have including Carroll, Nolan, and I hate to say it but even Barton. He understands the English players’ approach to the game. Stout defense, lump the ball up the field, chase it and try to force a goal or two in mainly through Carroll and Nolan’s poaching. Our present players don’t play that way and never will. They need a decent attacking plan revoloving around carpet football. An occassional finish with the head but mainly just good passing and an attacking formation which would play to their strengths. It seems obvious that Pardew just isn’t capable of that.

      (Quote)

  13. Andy ,Agree @86 ,Simmo is steady if not spectacular and we have really missed Raylor imo. I do like the look of Haidara though and if his confidence doesn’t get shattered I do think he’ll be a good PL player. Yesterday Saylor got a lot of stick but Mbiwa was far from eyecatching he was equally culpable for the goals. Considering we played 4 dmf there was no protection to the back four ,it beggers belief .

      (Quote)

  14. Andymag@82, sorry mate, I was trying to be sarcastic about Cisse being offside all the time. Of course the ruling is the same in Germany. 😳

Mbwia and Haidara will obviously need another few months to get the hang of the EPL. The opposition are all over them like a rash from the first minute.

      (Quote)

  15. @BB

aye, unfortunately its down to other teams now. I’d expect Villa to win 2moro.

I reckon we’ll get one point at best as we seem to be starting the relegation fight now without actually fighting 😛 while other teams are ready for the scrap.

Pardew and his ‘job done’ after the stoke game had us all believing we’d turned the corner. its been disastrous since.

We need to start with Benny v Hammers, colo and even Willo(cringe) to give us some stability (cant believe i wrote that)

      (Quote)

  16. @GeordieTwo

we were 5th last year with a similar team and lump-it-football. difference is we had Ba.

      (Quote)

  17. Aye Kimtoon @91 that was one of the most shocking things yesterday. We were set up to play a defensive game by Pardew and yet Liverpool had huge amounts of space in our half! How to explain that? A complete collapse by both our midfield and back 4 and no attack by us to take some of the pressure off. What a bizarre setup. That may be the worst league game I’ve seen us play in the last 10 years. Cup games are a different horror show and I would talk about them separately. 😥

      (Quote)

  18. That’s a good point Mark@94, and we also had Cisse scoring wonder goals. We haven’t had enough of either of those this season. But no manager can rely on 1 player and wonder goals and we are now finding that out the hard way.

      (Quote)

  19. Anyone who believed knacker ned’s “job done” quote after the Stoke game..hmm I’m sure I didn’t. The bloke just blathers, he can’t help himself unfortunately.

      (Quote)

  20. Pardew got rid of Best, Loven and Ba but kept super sub Shola 😯

Cisse has tried but it must be demoralising leading the line game after game without much success, esp when the service is ****

      (Quote)

  21. @Munich Mag

no m8 I didnt believe him but it did give the impression he wanted us to believe we were improving some-what and would be safe.

      (Quote)

  22. G2 ,I’m still trying to get my head around it .I knew when the team was announced it didn’t look good as it was too negative and the wrong personel involved, but to capitulate so badly was not in my thinking as with so many defensive players you wouldn’t expect it .My worry was where were the goals we needed coming from.

      (Quote)

  23. Right I’m trying to lift my mood a little and move onto the next game.

I’d imagine the squad we have to pick from will be:

Elliott, Harper, Alnwick, Simpson, Haidara, M’Biwa, Saylor, Collo, Willo, Tiote, Perch, Sissoko, Anita, Cabaye, Ben Arfa, Gouffran, Cisse, Obertan, Shola, Jonas, Gosling, Campbell

So who would you select as your team/formation vs West Ham? I’d go:

    4-4-2 (diamond)

    —————-Elliott—————
    M’Biwa-Saylor-Collo-Haidara
    ————–Sissoko————–
    ———-Cabaye-Anita———–
    ————-Ben Arfa————–
    ——-Cisse——–Gouffran—-

    Subs:
Harper, Perch, Willo, Tiote, Jonas, Gosling, Shola

      (Quote)

  24. There was no way to get goals with that lineup and formation Kimtoon @100. Was Pardew setting up to play for a 0-0 draw at home with points desperately needed? I can’t get my head around it either. How many games have we had now with Cisse isolated, with no service. We didn’t even have Gouffran to start yesterday as an outlet when we were under pressure (which was most of the game). I can’t find any more excuses for Pardew. And his running down the tunnel at the end before the players were even off the pitch. The man’s plums must have fallen off before the game.

      (Quote)

  25. Mark. Fifth because of Ba? Mate we have actually got more points since Ba left and he played half the season… The reason we came fifth is because we had a solid defensive set up and we got the rub of the green… Also. Cisse has had 5 goals unfairly ruled out for offsides this season. He should be on 17 by all accounts this season. Our problem is poor tactics, no structure, not playing to strengths and no confidence… Add to list.

      (Quote)

  26. That looks fairly decent Oblong @101 unless Marveaux is fit and can slot in beside Cabaye. And we have to hope for far better performances from Cabaye in the final 3 games. In fact far better performances from everyone. If Pardew tries his negative tactics again, especially at QPR I’ll be pulling the last of my hair out.

      (Quote)

  27. Without doubt we need to start games with Benny in the side as he can’t do much to help us on the bench, I do think some of the french players don’t have the balls for a scrap but they do have a bit of skill if we can use them the right way

      (Quote)

  28. Geordie – I saw the thumbs up too mate, in fairness it was to confirm how he wanted the team set up after Debuchys sending off rather than anything else.

Mark – this boost that you refer to for the last 3 games. The same such boost didn’t come by bringing Shearer in for 8 games – how many points did that inspire again mate?.
I can understand why you’re saying what you’re saying but there are nee guarantees and it could potentially make a terrible situation worse.

      (Quote)

  29. ————-Cisse-Goofy
    —————-Benny—–
    ————Cabaye-Sissoko
    —————–Anita——
    Haidara-Colo-(Clown A/Clown B)-Simmo

Maybe if we’d played a similar formation from the start of the season we’d never have been in this trouble eh pards! Surely we can get one more fucking win from this god awful season.

      (Quote)

  30. Oblong just noticed you had a very similar one…ah well, great minds 😆

We need to rally the troops, I think a Hat party around Shola’s the night before the match would be a good shout, Rod can break out his moonshine. HWTL

      (Quote)

  31. Spot on Big Dave @105. If fit Benny has to start. And we must have an attacking formation. Sharpy I think you’re right about the thumbs up mate. It just looked so bizarre the way the camera caught it. I hate to say it but if we are struggling against West Ham we might even have to try Shola for the final 20 minutes or so to give us a little fight. Shola will definitely try to make a difference and if we were ever to get a penalty shout he would be ready. Pathetic to be in this state with 3 games left isn’t it?

      (Quote)

  32. Newkie ,Like I said before the Liverpool game ,if we cant get 3 points from our last 4 games we deserve relegating. Trouble is our confidence will be rock bottom now and that was another blip I thought could occur though not quite as alarmingly as it has. I honestly cannot see even 1 point getting picked up now though I desperately want to be proved wrong. I want Pards to go attacking and pull off a tactical masterstroke and be made to eat a large slice of humble pie .

      (Quote)

  33. @ Newkie
Not often i get called a great mind so i will take that one… 😆

I think we need to start players in their right positions. Cisse needs support and if fit we need to get benny into the game. I’m sure he would be great in a free role in behind the strikers.

      (Quote)

  34. Off for a bit mates. I’ll have another peek later. I hope Pardew reads this blog. It could help him even if his ears are burning as well.

      (Quote)

  35. I said it all week before the Lpool game and I haven’t changed my opinion, the formation worked for us last season and could again now:

    —————- Elliott —————
    Simmo – Colo – MYM – Haidara
    — Cabaye – Sissoko – Anita —
    ————– Ben Arfa ————–
    ——– Cisse —— Gouffran ——

Or 4-3-3 with Benny alongside Cisse to the right.
There’s an old saying ‘if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it!’
It worked last season, so go back to it.

      (Quote)

  36. You know some of the other coaches need to grow some and take Pards to one side and let him know it’s all too negative and that certain players just arn’t up to speed and need dropping for the good of the team /season. I cannot see how all of them would see that formation yesterday in a home game where we desperately need points as a good idea and if they do they shouldn’t be in the game imo as every fan let out a collective groan when that team was announced.

      (Quote)

  37. Kim-Aye, but we just have to hope we get a reaction, as in FINALLY getting a fucking reaction. We’ve played well enough to nick a few wins during stuttering form but we’ve never come out all guns blazing. Maybe this will finally motivate pardew and all the lads. Maybe this will have broken them from their collective arrogant and lethargic stupor. I want a fucking win so i don’t have to write long words like lethargic anymore!!

Oblong 😉 Agree…surely Pardew won’t try anything as daft as yesterdays squad/formation..I still can’t say how good Benny would be behind the striker, he’s only played there about three times for us before. Just get him on the pitch and see if he can win us a game.

      (Quote)

  38. Sharpy I would go for that team and I have been calling all season for Benny to be played there, but I would have Saylor in at CB as MYM and Colo will have to get used to playing with eachother where as Saylor and Colo worked well together Yeah I know Saylor hasn’t been at his best but a fair few pundits were picking MYM out as being the weak link and in the wrong position for most of the time

      (Quote)

  39. Kim – Pardew suggested that at 10.30 Monday morning he’ll have the players back at training to sort things out!.
Sod that, they’d have been in 7.30am this morning with players and coaches alike. Not to train but for a clear the air open forum to get any issues out in the open and try to address them.
So that Monday morning everyone is on the same page and all ready to do what’s needed in the last 3 games.

      (Quote)

  40. Mark@99, it’s understandable though mate, the bloke is a remarkable patter merchant. Pity really that he hasn’t a clue this season… a big disappointment all round, even moreso for the bloke himself I would imagine.
He cannot be other than shell-shocked at the moment, because the toon job has knackered bigger and better managers than Alan Pardew. He should have been pinching himself since he first arrived at the toon, he really couldn’t believe he had been given usch a magnificent set of fans and so many sparkly baubles to play with and all for zero input. He didn’t even send Chris Houghton a thanks a lot mate e-card … Stability, stability ….hhhmmm…

      (Quote)

  41. Kim @ 115 how do you know they haven’t tried to tell him ? and he could maybe not be able to admit his faults and just carry on his way, as you do get people that don’t like to admit they’re wrong

      (Quote)

  42. ‘the toon job has knackered bigger and better managers than Alan Pardew.’ Pardew couldn’t hack the West Ham job, at least Big Fat Sam is making a decent fist of it… Next week will be humiliation for us against ex manager and players and humiliation for Pardew at his old club. 🙁

      (Quote)

  43. Dave ,That’s always possible and if true even more reason he has to go . Good leaders always listen to and respect the opinion of others that’s how progress is achieved . No time for tunnel vision now ,clear the air talks and a committed response is what’s needed all round. It’s a crying shame as no one really wanted Pards and I so wanted it to work for him I really did and I had hoped last years awards would inspire him but all it’s seemingly done has made him complacent and arrogant constantly looking to blame others and situations.

      (Quote)

  44. Why can’t we ever just get a manager that plays football the Newcastle way, we have never ever ever been a team that can just put 10 players behind the ball and hold on to a slim lead/draw. So why bring in managers with that style. We have never appreciated long ball type route one football so why bring in managers with that philosophy. There are loads of managers who play our continental style of football, go to France or Spain and get one. Surely we are not less attractive, financially and aesthetically to clubs like Southampton and Swansea.

      (Quote)

  45. “Firstly, for the squad and the staff, we apologize for that performance, We know in the next three games we’ve got to get at least one win, if not more, and that needs to start at West Ham. I’m afraid today was a real low point in my career here because that performance, as the score line suggested, just was not good enough.”

“I thought in hindsight the team selection didn’t work for us. The performances looked affected by the goals; to be 2-0 down so early looked like it affected a few bodies.”

“All my teams are organised and are on the front foot, looking to win the game, but that wasn’t the case today. We looked disorganized and it’s not anyone’s individual problem – it’s a collective problem we’ve got to put right.”

“We’ve got three or four people in that dressing room who have been in this position and got relegated and we’re going to have to draw on that experience to make sure it doesn’t happen again.”

“Now we really need to roll our sleeves up and show the fans that we’ve got the fight in us to get out of this because we’re now right in it.” no **** sherlock.. 🙄

      (Quote)

  46. aye. why the f*** weren’t the team in 2day sorting this mess out? 8am Monday would of been a start. 10:30? take your time lads, ne hurries or worries..

      (Quote)

  47. I honestly get the feeling Pardew thinks he is gone at the end of the season himself. It looks to me as if he doesn’t care himself anymore… He’s just going through the motions.

      (Quote)

  48. A few of the reality train/love boat’s comments before the Liverpool game:

“…I believe we can get a draw and if lucky a win.” 😛 CUCKOO!

“Despite what some say, Pardew seems to keep the players happy.”

” …its been a big learning step for him and he’s willing to listen. Many managers are too pig headed and think they know best.” “Well done Pards for taking this approach and lets see if you can turn this round. Despite Pardews faults, I find something likeable and different about him which has been different to many other managers we’ve had.”

“There would be nothing better than Pards going through a rough patch and to come through the other side a better manager. That’s what can happen if you stay loyal to managers. They gain confidence. Come on Pards! Lets show these anti Pardew hissy fitters.” 😛 CUCKOO! CUCKOO! CHOO CHOO!

The anti-pardew hissy fitters have been saying since well before Christmas that we’re looking like a relegation side. However, even we didn’t expect Pardew could **** up to such an extent after Ashley bailed him out in January, although it pretty quickly became apparent that he could.

      (Quote)

  49. Dave – if the only difference in line up was Taylor instead of Colo – I could live with that mate. I considered even having Saylor RB instead of Simmo but I think Simmo might be the better option against Matt Jarvis.

      (Quote)

  50. Mark he mightn’t be the best RB in the Prem but he is decent and I have never seen him give up and will always put a good shift in,

      (Quote)

  51. Dace-I’m pretty sure I’ve never seen Simmo slide in like a fucking halfwit either, has he ever been sent off for us? Will be interesting to see if he and Colo can make a difference.

      (Quote)

  52. Dave – yeah you might be right there like, Saylor and Colo know each other as well tho and he may even consider putting MYM at LB instead of Haidara.
I also agree about Simmo mate. I still feel we are stupid to be allowing him to go on a free in the summer. I don’t dislike Debuchy, but from what I’ve seen so far I’m not sure he’s THAT much better for the effort that went into signing him.
Personally I preferred Nathaniel Clyne for free last summer at only 20, I think he’s got a very bright future.

      (Quote)

  53. Sharpy-Aye, I think we’re pretty mental to not offer him a contract, especially given he has championship experience…or maybe I shouldn’t be saying that … 😕

      (Quote)

  54. Wish he would get his P45 tomorrow. I would rather have this negative, clueless *uckwit as far away as possible from the players and let them get on wth it. Sure they could figure it out themselves and make a better fist of it over the next three games than having to listen to his negative whining and trying to adopt his pathetic tactics. At least they could play themselves in their favoured positions which would be a good start.

      (Quote)

  55. Right I’m off. G’night. Might have to resort to bedtime prayers and ask for some points

      (Quote)

  56. oh dear, short memories from some now.
Simmo’s problem was that he wouldn’t commit to a tackle.
He would constantly back off, back off back off and then get skinned.
    Time and time again.
Blocked a good few on the line tho. 😕
But his backing off got soo frustrating.
Add in the fact he couldn’t cross a ball into the box, and the picture is complete.
Simmo wasn’t and still isn’t the answer.
Seems like Debushy isn’t either, as he is reckless in the tackle and also can’t defend.
    Doh ❗

      (Quote)

  57. Newkie – fair be it from me to be optimistic but I don’t think we will be in the Championship next season. I’m not saying I’m 100% confident and there is a very big part of me still nervous. But I think it’s between Wigan and Villa – possibly them meeting on the last day of the season being a decider, but I think we’ll pick up between 1-3 points in the next 2 games – that coupled with other teams doing us favours should be just about enough IMO.

      (Quote)

  58. B+B-Appreciate that he backed off, it’s not to do with a short memory I remember him doing it and accepted that as his style. How many times did he really get skinned? I used to get crucified for saying he was better defensively than Santon last season but because he was so poor going forward people bummed our young italian. Seems this year people have cottoned on though.

He’s not flashy but if we can get Simmo/Saylor/Colo together at least we know they have some understanding. Not fussed who plays left back out of haidara and mbiwa tbh.

      (Quote)

  59. We better hope we do not get into a scenario where a draw between Wigan and Villa would save them and send us down. We saw how well we respond to “just need one goal” situations the last time we got relegated.

We need to be safe by the time the final game against Arsenal comes along.

      (Quote)

  60. Have to say there is a great deal of common sense and good opinions tonight on the blog.
I’m sure its not rocket science. But Pardews mistakes are so obvious, it’s embarrassing.
He could do worse than to take a good few tips off here.
Keep it simple, play to our teams strengths and attack, attack attack ffs.
Setting his stall out not to lose has failed time and again.
Begs belief that he never learns.
    HTL

      (Quote)

  61. Sharpy-Aye…I think I’m a bit more confident than most on here, surely we can pick up a win against qpr..That should be enough to see us over the line. Will be cheering the mackems on tomorrow tho, just when I thought this season couldn’t get worse..

      (Quote)

  62. Boots – it takes a big man to admit he’s wrong and Pardew needs to be that man right now IMO.
Like I said earlier, for whatever reason he has gone from a 4-3-1-2 or 4-3-3 formation that worked last season to 4-2-3-1 which really hasn’t this season.
There is no shame in going back to the drawing board.

      (Quote)

  63. Stuart-really? Not sure I believe it… If it’s decided then why not do it now? What has pards got to gain by saving us now? He will get a championship job along the line if we stay up and he is sacked, or he will get a championship job along the line if we go down.

Would rafa come to a side in the championship as well? ..

      (Quote)

  64. Mark, the reality train said only today: “Its great to have it written down so no one can back track when things turn out differently to what they expect.”

It was all written down back in November when I was slated by the reality train back for comments like this:

    BLACKLEY & BROWNLIE
    November 26, 2012 at 22:34
BB – We’re in a desperate rut. I get the feeling there’s poor morale in the camp and a few dissenting voices. Pards has the look of a man without answers.
I couldn’t see us getting anything from Southampton, and I can’t see where the next win is coming from. We can’t even come back from going a goal down or score from a set piece ffs. Our record is dreadful.
He is drinking in the last chance saloon. His c.v. before coming here is poor, and he appears to be suffering the same problems he had that meant he departed previous clubs. Even Adkins, when asked the other day, gave him no credit for any of Southampton’s recent success. 2.13 seasons is the average duration of all managers, an amazingly powerful fact. Add to that, survival is so massively important for the riches that await next season. It’s not looking good.

This was from the reality train back in November:

TROY STAVERS: “I find this idea of sacking Pardew at this stage, absolutely mind blowing. It beggars belief it’s even being considered by many including you. I again ask you to look at Evertons history. We are now in a similar position. They’ve sold many a player for big profit, qualified for Europe, struggled in the early stages of the premier and then came strong at the end. Moyes has worked wonders and the board have shown loyalty. I’ve no doubt there were many Everton fans calling for his head when they were languishing near the bottom in the early part of his Everton career.”

    @Johno
Thanks. I see us exactly in the same boat as them. No manager can achieve great things with the resources Moyes and Pards receive.
We simply haven’t got the squad to compete strongly whilst in Europe. I would expect us to slowly improve on our recent form and finish roughly in the same position as the expenditure league table. 10th to 7th.

But now they’re all for sacking Pards.
    OR are they?
BUT only if Ashley will splash the cash on a better manager
BUT a better manager won’t come under Ashley because he treats players, managers, and fans like dirt SO they’re not calling for his sacking OR are they IF …?
AND Ashley must have a yes man SO there’s no point because, of all the yes men, Pardew’s as good as we’ll get.
BUT we must stick with Pardew anyway because of the similarities with Everton and the fact that Pardew could be the next Moyes and if we sack him he never can be.
