Game On! Leicester Vs Newcastle United

Leicester_City_v_Newcastle_United_Match_Preview_FTWelcome one and all to this ‘Game On’ article which will take us through the highs and lows as we travel to the King Power Stadium for today’s Premier league game (12.45 kick-off), to face the in-form Leicester City in what head coach John Carver has dubbed “the biggest game of the weekend.” Leicester have won four of their last five games only failing to the the Premier League Champions elect Chelsea on Wednesday night after taking the lead at the King Power Stadium and having a go at them but eventually suffering a 3-1 defeat.
John Carver and first team coach Steve Stone were in the stands for that game, watching Leicester in action, and were impressed by what they saw.
“If I’m perfectly honest out of the next four games, I think this is going to be one of the toughest,” said Carver.
“Me and Steve Stone travelled down to watch them against Chelsea and the atmosphere was incredible, so we’ll have to deal with that.
“Leicester were very well organised, very strong and a big physical side but they did run out of steam a little bit.
“We have to make sure we stay in the game. They’re very tight and they work extremely hard. They’ll put us under pressure and not give us a minute on the ball.
“But because of their work rate they tire, and we must use that to our advantage.”
Following their recent haul of 12 points, Leicester have climbed out of the relegation zone and currently sit just three points behind the Magpies going into Saturday’s fixture.
“Nigel (Pearson) has done a remarkable job,” Carver added, about his opposite number.
“Four weeks ago his team weren’t even in the hunt to stay in this league but he has turned that around.
“This is certainly the biggest game of the weekend – it’s huge for both sides for different reasons. The important thing is we need to get a result because we all know what run we are in at the moment and that needs to end.”
I just hope we stop the rot and stop breaking records.

This match ended early for us…

    Take a break, have a quick shower….

Mike Ashely is shrewd business man, he knew we will be safe with 35points.

  6. if you were the owner of a 200 million quid a year business, would you trust carver with a transfer kitty? Mind you, as ours is around 49p I guess Ashley would.

    Carver must be replaced today.

  11. Jabba thinks supporters will turn up in our droves next week for a massive game against WBA. I say, stay away! He gambled in January and now we should gamble too. Just don’t go. Show him we just don’t care anymore while he is here.

  12. I agree, Troy. Carver must be replaced immediately! We still have three games left and a new coach would have enough time to make a difference.

  15. That was a tackle from the book of Debuchy. Jannmatt didn’t fancy playing in any more games this season. The dressing room is rotten. No more effort and no more points this season

  16. Carver must take responsibility for this lack of discipline. It’s a shambles and he must be replaced. Time for Ashley to a to or he is sleep walking into oblivion.

Stuart you’re right about Carver. He needs to be the bigger man and resign.

Dave I’m sure Ashley won’t react but Carver needs to force his hand for the good of the club.

  33. Those 2 sendings off may well overshadow a **** poor team selection by Carver – it won’t for me!!.
No way was that starting 11 ever going to win today – we surrendered the game before a ball was kicked.
