As reported on NUFC.co.uk, Yoan Gouffran is “happy” at Newcastle. This comes after growing speculation this week, that French side Lille may be interested in taking him back to France in January.
Gouffran, who continued his excellent run of form with another goal against Cardiff, says that he “happy” and “enjoying playing with my teammates”.
The Frenchman also went on to praise Rafa Benitez, saying “Maybe (the system) has helped me. Sometimes I can get free, and I can play my game, but the tactics are the choice of the manager.”
It must be remembered that it was not long ago that past managers had Gouffran playing in a different position every week, so it hardly comes as a surprise that his return to form coincides with a fixed position in the team.
Gouffran only has a deal until the end of the season, so his departure could still be a possibility but if he continues his great run of form, he may well find himself being offered the chance to stay at St. James’ Park.
