Eddie Howe hints at Premier League loan moves – but reveals dilemma with money-saving deals

Eddie Howe has revealed that the Premier League loan market is something he’ll “definitely” look at – but admits it can be difficult to get the right player when pursuing this type of deal.

He feels that, unless there’s a view to a permanent signing, some players don’t put their “heart and soul” into the club, as they know they’ll be gone once the season is over.

However, Howe insists that it’s a market well worth pursuing in a bid to save “big money” on hefty transfer fees and long-term contracts, even if this is the type of signing that may emerge later in the window.

We’ve already been linked with several top flight players who could be available on a temporary basis, with Armando Broja, Callum Hudson-Odoi and Nicolas Pepe all linked in recent weeks.

Here’s what Howe told The Chronicle when asked if he’ll be looking at the Premier League loan market:

“It’s definitely something we’ll look at. I’d say probably, at this stage, it’s a bit early for that, I think.

“Loans, I think, come a little bit later.

“It’s certainly something we’ll look at, it’d be foolish not to, because it can save you big money on transfer fees and long contract.

“But it probably doesn’t give you, unless it’s with a view to a permanent signing, the player’s heart and soul, unless it’s a very special player.

“We just have to get the balance right. I think it’s all about the individual, really.”

  1. Don’t worry Eddie if we sign all the players the press say where after you’ll have enough for five teams. 😄😄😄😄😄
