Newcastle United have released a video Anthony Gordon’s first big interview following his £40m move from Everton.
Speaking to NUFC TV (watch it in full below), he’s revealed how excited he is to finally be here following interest over the summer, saying he “couldn’t be happier” to sign at St James’ Park.
He’s “convinced” it’s the right club for him, based on the fanbase, our style of play, Eddie Howe and the direction of the club, but accepts it’s been a “tough week” leaving boyhood club Everton; who he’s wished well for the remainder of the season.
The 21-year-old insists that people haven’t seen what he’s capable of yet and “can’t wait” to play at St James’ Park, believing there’s no better atmosphere in the Premier League.
Gordon also laughed off meeting Fabian Schar and Kieran Trippier for the first time since they clashed in our heated affair earlier this season, also talking up his ambition to play in Europe and win trophies on Tyneside.
