Toon in talks to sign ‘exciting winger’ as Ashworth eyes another England youth international

Newcastle have ‘had discussions with 16-year-old talent Trevan Sanusi, but face competition from Liverpool, Man City, Man Utd and Tottenham.

This comes from Academy expert the Secret Scout, who reports that the ‘exciting winger’ is expected to announce his new club ‘very soon’ after turning down a new deal at Birmingham City in search of a Premier League move.

This follows strong links with former West Ham talent and fellow England youth international Divine Mukasa, with the club also tipped to sign Irish teenager Kevin Zefi and Romeo Akachukwu.

Sanusi played a big part for the Blues at Under-21 level last year and even made the first-team bench for their away trip to Blackpool but never made his debut.

That would’ve made the teenager Birmingham’s youngest ever player, surpassing Jude Bellingham, but he ran out of games before the season came to a close.

Newcastle have been in discussions with the exciting prospect but face a tough challenge in fighting off a number of other ‘big six’ clubs who are chasing his signature.

Sanusi, who has represented England Under-15s and Under-16s, could be a great addition to the academy that Dan Ashworth is working so hard on improving.
